Hello London! Orkan z wizytą w Wielkiej Brytanii „Hello London!” said the students of class 3E1 on October 15th. For four days, they explored the capital of England, absorbing British culture and admiring London’s iconic landmarks. On the first day, they also visited the charming university town of Cambridge, which brought them closer to their own student future. That day, they also saw Buckingham Palace and heard about the most interesting figures in the British monarchy. The second day was a day of museums. The first visit was the Victoria and Albert Museum, focusing on the history of Great Britain. However the Natural History Museum was more important for young biologists. Finally, the students strolled through the City of London, where historic houses stand alongside modern skyscrapers. They also saw the iconic Tower Bridge and the London Eye, and learned about the history of the Tower of London. On the third day, the students had the opportunity to stand on two hemispheres of the Earth at once, visiting Greenwich, where the Prime Meridian runs. They also visited the shopping Oxford Street. The highlight of the day was the British Museum, home to a vast collection of artifacts from ancient Egypt, Greece, and other parts of the world. The final day resulted in many photos – the students saw Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and had the opportunity to stop by the famous red telephone boxes. They also visited the government district and the National Gallery, where they saw, among other things, van Gogh’s „Sunflowers.” After the obligatory souvenir shopping at Piccadilly Circus, it was unfortunately time to return. On October 19th, loaded with tea and enriched by new language experiences, the students had to say „Bye bye, London!“
„Hello London!“ – powiedzieli uczniowie Orkana z klasy 3E1 dnia 15.10 opuszczając pokład samolotu. Przez cztery dni zwiedzali stolicę Anglii, chłonąc brytyjską kulturę i podziwiając znane miejsca w Londynie. Pierwszego dnia odwiedzili także urokliwe miasteczko uniwersyteckie Cambridge, co przybliżyło ich do własnej studenckiej przyszłości. Tego dnia zobaczyli również Buckingham Palace i usłyszeli o najciekawszych postaciach brytyjskiej monarchii.
Drugi dzień był dniem muzeów. Najpierw zwiedzili muzeum Victorii i Alberta poświęcone głównie historii Wielkiej Brytanii. Dla młodych biologów ważniejszym okazało się jednak Muzeum Historii Naturalnej. Na koniec uczniowie przespacerowali się także po londyńskim City, gdzie zabytkowe kamienice stoją obok nowoczesnych wieżowców. Zobaczyli też ikoniczne Tower Bridge i London Eye oraz usłyszeli historię twierdzy Tower.
Trzeciego dnia uczniowie mieli okazję stanąć na dwóch półkulach ziemi jednocześnie, gdyż odwiedzili Greenwich, gdzie przebiega południk zerowy Ziemi. Odwiedzili także handlową Oxford Street. Najważniejszym punktem programu było jednak British Museum posiadające ogromną kolekcję zabytków starożytnego Egiptu i Grecji oraz eksponatów z innych części świata.
Ostatni dzień wycieczki był niezwykle bogaty, gdyż uczniowie zobaczyli Big Bena, Westminster Abbey oraz zatrzymali się przy legendarnych czerwonych budkach telefonicznych, by zrobić pamiątkowe fotki. Zwiedzili także dzielnicę rządową i muzeum sztuki National Gallery, gdzie zobaczyli m.in „Słoneczniki“ van Gogha. Po obowiązkowym zakupie pamiątek na Piccadily Circus nadszedł, niestety, czas powrotu. 19.10., obładowani herbatą i bogatsi o nowe doświadczenie językowe, uczniowie musieli powiedzieć: „Bye bye, London!“
